eGovernment Users in Malta Satisfied with the Level of Service Received
From two online surveys conducted by MITA during 2010 – the eGovernment General Survey and the eGovernment User Satisfactions Survey – results show that almost 9 out of 10 people are satisfied with the level of service they receive when making use of local eGovernment services. The same results reveal that 54% of the respondents make use of the internet to communicate with the Government, whilst another 55% use eGovernment services.
76% of the respondents believe that eGovernment has made it easier for them to carry out mandatory tasks online, such as tax payments or driving license renewals. 63% also said that online services provided them with a better quality than the over-the-counter alternative.
Mr. Claudio Grech, the Chairman of MITA, said that currently, more than 90 eGovernment services from different Ministries and Government Departments are available online. He added that the plan is that by the end of 2012, each and every Government service will be made available online.
The findings of these two surveys add to Malta’s portfolio of successes within the eGovernment sphere, together with Malta’s leading position in eGovernment across Europe as confirmed by the 9th eGovernment Benchmarking Report.
