Meet Reuben!

Life at Exigy.

This month, we’ve sat down with Reuben for a chat about his life both at Exigy and outside the office. Find out about his hobbies and what he gets up to in his free time in our latest interview!

Tell us something about yourself and your work.

For the past 4 years, I have been working as a Solutions Developer at Exigy. I started as a Junior in my position and am now a Senior. My work mainly involves maintaining and updating Government Identity related web applications.

On a personal note, I like to keep physically fit by practicing various sports, mainly squash, football, running and swimming. I also keep myself busy with other hobbies, such as following professional football and hanging out with my friends.

Perfect and late, or good and on time? Are you a perfectionist when it comes to your work?

I think one has to try to find a balance between the two options. Perfection is unattainable, and you cannot risk ending up being late whilst attempting to reach it.

What is something you’d be happy doing every single day for the rest of your career?

I love working on projects that make a difference, just for the satisfaction of saying that I’m helping the world technologically evolve.

Is there a particular project or objective you are currently looking forward to working on at Exigy?

Yes, I’m particularly looking forward to the GDPR changes for the eid.gov.mt SSO Portal.

Do you often work on your own as an individual or as part of a team?

I like working both as an individual and as part of a team. At Exigy, I form part of a team, which also allows enough time for individual work.

What do you like best about working at Exigy?

I enjoy the positive work environment at Exigy, as well as being able to work autonomously and manage my own time.

If you could work from your office in any city or country, which one would you choose?

I’d probably like to live somewhere with zero pollution!

Which three skills or personal qualities do you consider necessary for your particular role at Exigy? How has the company helped you develop these qualities?

Patience, attention to detail and keeping a positive attitude, especially when communicating with other team members. These skills, in my opinion, will prevent you from losing appreciation for your job and will ultimately help you be better at it. The daily process and mentality adopted by my team has lead me to identify and strengthen the above-mentioned skills.

If your colleagues were asked to describe you, what do you think they would say is your best quality?

I think they would say that I’m a helpful guy with a positive attitude.

How would you describe life at Exigy in just three words?

“Quick, but comfortable!”
